A Data Quality Analyst is responsible for designing, implementing, and operating automated data quality controls that ensure enterprise data is accurate, complete, consistent, and compliant with regulatory and business standards, while aligning technical solutions with governance frameworks and stakeholder requirements.
Responsibilities:
- Contributor to selection and setup of data quality tools depending on consolidated requirements from all stakeholders;
- Defines DQ Dashboards requirements and performs unit testing for delivered solution components;
- Work with data governance analysts and requesters to understand and derive meaningful data quality requirements and translate them into appropriate implementation;
- Design, develop and unit test DQ checks in line with requirements and defined standards;
- Contribute to continuous improvements of the data quality design and development process and documentation of standards;
- Proactive monitoring of DQ results and execution logs;
- Initiates DQ actions and assigns responsible persons towards resolution;
- Facilitates resolution of the DQ action, monitors response times;
- Identifies and triggers new software evolutions for source systems in order to prevent DQ issues;
- Ensure proper impact analysis and lineage metadata is available including DQ Catalogue;
- Impact analysis of changes in existing data quality solution components implemented;
- Perform quality assurance and ensure standards are followed when implementing new DQ Checks;
- Ensure alignment of above mentioned standards with data governance teams, self service consumers, data modeler, technical architect and quality assurance teams or other relevant counterparties;
- Training and support for stakeholders in understanding the root causes and potential actions for fixing DQ or for understanding DQ tool capabilities and standards;
- Prepare and produce releases of DQ software components and maintain documentation;
- Contribute with the rest of the team to continuous improvements of the DQ development and monitoring process and documentation of standards;
- L3 support whenever required;
- Actively participate in agile ceremonies, Estimate duration of activities, design, development, quality assurance, user acceptance and launching into production phases;
- Stay up-to-date with the latest technology advancements relevant for domain of responsibility and contribute to the evaluation and adoption of new tools and techniques in the area of responsibility;
- Collaborate with quality assurance teams in order to properly define and automatize checks.
Technical Skills:
- Advanced knowledge of banking processes and products;
- Advanced understanding and experience in DQ design and development as well as troubleshooting;
- Mid level Experience with building queries in various DB (e.g. Oracle, SQL Server, DataBricks, Snowflake).
Other Essential Skills:
- Good knowledge of DQ design and development principles;
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to diagnose and resolve complex functional requirements;
- Proven ability to take ownership of tasks and drive them to completion as well as acting as a mentor and consultant for internal consumers and analysts;
- Excellent attention to detail anda commitment to delivering high-quality work;
- Strive to constantly improve and automate DQ development processes and tools;
- Experience working with Agile approaches and best practices.
